Trainee Dialysis Technologist

Key Responsibilities:
- Pre dialysis assessment of the patient including pre-dialysis weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, respiration rate and investigations.
- Primes dialyzer with saline or heparinized solution to prepare machine for use.
- Sets up and operates hemodialysis machine to provide dialysis treatment for patients with renal failure; attaches dialyzer and tubing to machine to assemble for use.
- Connect hemodialysis machine to catheter site to start blood circulating through dialyzer.
- Can prick AV fistula after 10-15 supervised and successful attempts.
- Post-dialysis assessment of the patient: post dialysis weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate and respiration rate.
- Involves in the preparation of dialysis solution
- Working in tandem with nurses, technicians and doctors.
Qualifications and Experience:
- BSMT with 6 months house job training completed
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications
- Good communications and interpersonal skills.
