Air University invites applications from motivated and technically inclined BS Computer Science students for engagement as a BS Research Student under an HEC-funded research project.

Research Project

“Humanistic Smart Transportation Prototype for Islamabad: Using Sensory, Neuro and Digital Marketing Interventions for Sustainable and Safer Urban Mobility”

The project is funded under the National Research Program for Universities (NRPU), HEC, and involves interdisciplinary research focusing on sensory, neuro, behavioural, digital marketing, and sustainable urban mobility interventions.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will work under the guidance of the Principal Investigator and research team and will be expected to:

• Assist with the installation and setup of Tobii eye-tracking equipment.

• Support eye-tracker calibration and participant setup.

• Assist in gaze-data acquisition during research experiments.

• Support the use of Tobii Pro Lab for data management and basic analysis.

• Assist in generating heat maps and other basic data visualizations.

• Support attention analysis based on eye-tracking data.

• Assist in the synchronization and organization of eye-tracking and physiological data.

• Support the acquisition and organization of GSR, HR, and HRV data.

• Monitor basic signal quality during data collection.

• Assist in data preprocessing, cleaning, coding, and organization.

• Support Python-based data processing and visualization.

• Assist in the operation and configuration of physiological sensors, Bluetooth devices, and other research equipment.

• Support basic hardware troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.

• Assist in documenting experimental procedures, data-collection activities, and equipment configurations.

• Participate in participant-based experiments, fieldwork, and other project-related research activities.

• Participate in online/remote research activities and meetings when required.

• Be willing to travel between Islamabad and Kharian for project-related research activities when required.

Eligibility & Required Skills

• Currently enrolled in a BS Computer Science, BS Artificial Intelligence, BS Computer Engineering, or closely related undergraduate program.
