Head of Legal (EVP / SEVP)

National Bank of Pakistan is seeking an experienced senior legal professional for Head of Legal (EVP/SEVP), based in Karachi.

Maximum age 57 years on the last date of application. Minimum LLB or equivalent from a local or international university/college/institute recognized by HEC. LLM and relevant professional certifications will be preferred. Minimum 15 years working experience in corporate law gained through reputable law firms and/or large-scale organizations, including at least seven years in senior legal leadership and/or strategic advisory roles. Preference will be given to candidates with Bar membership, extensive banking/financial services, litigation and regulatory experience, international legal experience, multi-jurisdiction legal matters, local/foreign counsel coordination, employment and labor law knowledge. Strong commercial awareness, business judgment, communication, negotiation, contract drafting, legal documentation, property-related matters and stakeholder management skills are required. Responsibilities include providing legal advice, managing legal/regulatory/financial risks and litigation, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, transaction structuring, employment issues, regulatory matters, external counsel, legal costs, policy review and HR litigation matters. Employment is contractual for three years, renewable at management discretion.
