Job Description & Overview

Strategic Purpose: To design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems that power SD&ED’s digital platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability of services. Technical Requirements: Backend Frameworks: Node.js with Express.js and/or NestJS (preferred), Prisma ORM Database Management: Strong exposure/knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB or similar) System Design & APIs: RESTful API design (GraphQL is a plus) Microservices architecture understanding (preferred) Version Control & Tools: Git and GitHub (branching strategies, collaboration workflows) Additional Skills (Preferred): Basic DevOps (Docker, CI/CD pipelines) Core Competencies: Backend architecture, database optimization, security-first design, scalability engineering

Eligibility Criteria & Requirements

Develop and maintain server-side applications and APIs Design scalable system architecture for high-load environments Manage database design, optimization, and data integrity Implement authentication, authorization, and security protocols Integrate backend systems with frontend applications and external services Monitor system performance and optimize backend processes Ensure high availability, reliability, and fault tolerance Maintain technical documentation and version control practices
